Founded in 1878, Leicestershire Tennis Club is a friendly member-owned club with an elected Committee. Nestled in the heart of residential Stoneygate, the Club has its own freehold grounds just to the south of Leicester city centre. Membership is open to all and the club encourages the recruitment of a diverse and inclusive membership.

Leicestershire is the largest tennis club in the county and one of the largest and oldest in the UK. There are 18 tennis courts; 9 artificial grass, 5 artificial clay and four macadam alongside two squash courts with changing and shower facilities in the Clubhouse.  10 of our courts are floodlit for nigh time play. The Club has the honour of annually hosting both the Senior and Junior County Closed Tennis Championships during July and August, and the County Squash Tournament in the Spring.

In addition to a number of Mix-ins throughout the week, the club offers a number of more competitive playing opportunities, entering teams in a wide range of competitions and leagues, as well as organising internal leagues and tournaments. Members are encouraged to arrange matches and informal mix-ins  with the large number of courts at the club facilitating maximum participation.

The Clubhouse boasts a fully licenced bar, Rackets Coffee Shop, and the Club shop which is run by racket specialists; Withers Intersports.
